Even Anheuser-Busch could see big changes

      Pretty amazing to me that more and more we are seeing American companies being sold or moving overseas. The latest news in this area is St.Louis based Anheuser-Bush has been offered to be bought by a Belgium-based brewer…”InBev SA”. It is hard to believe that could happen.  Anheuser-Busch is the largest brewery in the US and it is one of the oldest also.

     I have to wonder why this is happening. What is this saying about American Industry?  In my lifetime (of 51 yrs) so many businesses have either closed down, moved their operation overseas, or sold out to foreign interests.  I also have to wonder where this is heading.  We haven’t been conquered by any foreign enemies. Is the way that we are going to emplode,  by everything we do?  Buying,  selling,  or trading is going to be decided by another country or a group of other countries ( European Union perhaps).

      I don’t want to get too emotional over this or anything, but losing Anheuser-Busch to a foreign company even if the Brewery’s name isn’t changed will be quite a change. There is a lot of things that will be different. The Brewery does a lot for the community… more than even most residences of St. Louis realize.  I doubt if the Belgium company will care too much about the locals.
